Global Experience Specialists, as the name would suggest, is an international, full service provider for live events. However it started life with a very different role. Established in 1939 in Kansas City, and originally called Manncraft, back in the 30s the company specialised in signs, window trimmings and small displays.

However over the past almost 80 years, GES has grown enormously, both organically and through acquisitions – in 2009 it joined forces with Exhibitgroup/Giltspur, and became Global Experience Specialists the following year. Now with more than 60 offices around the world, GES now offers a full range of support for exhibitions, conferences, and other events.

According to Eddie Newquist, Chief Creative Officer, “The new GES brand signified the company’s commitment to creating the world’s most meaningful, memorable experiences for brand marketers, show organisers and event attendees.”

It’s clear that GES has progressed far beyond its early roots, and specialises in producing a range of events – everything from exhibitions, conferences and corporate events – as well as offering a wealth of accompanying services, including marketing, design and event accommodation. As Newquist says, “Basically you name it and GES can probably achieve it.”

Acting as a strategic partner, GES has worked on an impressive and varied list of projects to date, ranging from the blockbuster Harry Potter: The Exhibition, to the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Acting as a strategic partner, GES has worked on an impressive and varied list of projects to date, ranging from the blockbuster Harry Potter: The Exhibition, to the London 2012 Olympic Games. GES is also responsible for the largest trade show exhibition in the Western hemisphere – CONEXPO-CON/AGG. As well as managing shows, the GES team can be found at several key conferences each year, including Expo! Expo!, Professional Convention Management Association’s Convening Leaders, American Society of Association Executives’ Springtime, the AAM Expo and the Association of Science and Technology Centers Expo.

There are also hundreds of planned projects on GES’ calendar for the next year, with the GES Canadian team planning and producing portions of the Pan Am and Parapan AM games in Toronto in July, and the GES Entertainment team recently announcing a new touring show with 20th Century Fox, about James Cameron’s Avatar.
